The National Institute for STEM Education (NISE) has been selected as a finalist in the 2023 EdTech Cool Tool Awards within the professional development learning solution and the badging/credentialing solution categories.
Two online professional development programs from the National Institute for STEM Education (NISE) have been selected as finalists in the 2023 EdTech Cool Tool Awards. The NISE National Certificate for STEM Teaching is a finalist in the professional development learning solution category, and the NISE Micro Certificates program is a finalist in the badging/credentialing solution category.
Celebrating its 13th year, the U.S.-based EdTech Awards program is the world’s largest recognition program for education technology. This year’s finalists and winners were judged based on criteria including pedagogical workability, efficacy and results, support, clarity, value, and potential.
The National Certificate for STEM Teaching is a competency-based professional development program for preK-12 teachers. It focuses on high-impact STEM instructional strategies that work synergistically across content areas. Designed with working educators in mind, the National Certificate for STEM Teaching is personalized, job-embedded, standards-focused, and convenient. Participants can start the 100% online, self-paced program at any time, with support from a virtual STEM coach.
The NISE Micro Certificates and online courses are uniquely designed to meet teachers’ needs with highly targeted professional development. Priced at $39, each three-hour online course can be completed anytime, anywhere. Teachers who complete two paired courses in an area of practice earn a Micro Certificate. NISE offers two series of Micro Certificates: “STEM Essentials” and “Teaching Online Essentials.” Teachers may also choose to complete any individual online course to refine their practice and learn new strategies for teaching.
“A very big congratulations to all The EdTech Awards 2023 finalists and winners — and congratulations to all who endured the upheavals of the last few years only to come through stronger, more experienced, resilient, and resolute in laying out the future of learning,” said Victor Rivero, who as editor-in-chief of EdTech Digest oversees the program.
