Superintendents Select the National Certificate for STEM Teaching as the Most Innovative Professional Development Solution in the 2022 Supes’ Choice Awards
HOUSTON – Dec. 15, 2022 – The National Certificate for STEM Teaching (NCST) from the
National Institute for STEM Education (NISE) has won the award for Most Innovative Professional Development (PD) Solution in the second annual Supes’ Choice Awards.
Presented by the Institute for Education Innovation (IEI), the Supes’ Choice Awards program is the only education industry award judged exclusively by school district superintendents from across the country. Each winning solution was evaluated based on a commitment to student outcomes, innovation and ingenuity, client support, interactivity, and engagement. Winners were recognized at the Supes’ Choice Awards Gala in New York City on Dec. 8.
“The Supes’ Choice Awards recognize the trailblazers and visionaries in today’s EdTech industry,” said IEI Founder and CEO Doug Roberts. “While every entry demonstrated the incredible impact cutting-edge companies have made in education, NISE represents the best of the best. Their efforts to expand learning opportunities, improve student engagement, and enhance the work of educators have set a strong foundation for our children’s success.”
The National Certificate for STEM Teaching is an online, competency-based professional development program for preK-12 teachers. It focuses on high-impact STEM instructional strategies that work synergistically across content areas. Designed with working educators in mind, the NCST is personalized, job-embedded, standards-focused, and convenient. Participants can start the 100% online, self-paced program at any time, with support from a virtual STEM coach.
“We are excited to be selected by district superintendents for this award recognizing exceptional professional development,” said NISE Executive Director Craig R. Leager. “Almost 5,100 educators have earned the National Certificate for STEM Teaching to date. We share this award with all of these teachers and with the superintendents who support them in their drive toward STEM excellence.”
